PS

Sorry if the link doesn't work by clicking on it. Blogger isn't allowing me to see where I've pressed Enter to keep things separated and I'm not sure why. You may have to copy and paste the link into another page to hear the song.

Ever wonder what heaven will sound like? Sure we hear a fantastic piece of music and think that is what it will sound like. And then there are songs like "I can only imagine" by MercyMe, while it is an amazing song, may or may not actually be what heaven is like. I mean if you think about it, there will be people from every tribe and nation there and well there are a lot of different "tribes and nations" in the world ranging from the syncopated rhythms of jazz music in the southern States to African music and Oriental music and then you have Oriental styles and various European traditions and South American and Australian. There's so many different types of music out there that it would seem like a crazy mumbo jumbo of styles that the clash would be horrible if put together in one place at the same time. I mean it would be pretty hard to imagine God being like, "Ok guys Monday morning at 9am is the Aussies turn to worship and promptly at 10am it is the Kenyans turn and then I feel like putting in some Argentinean worship." I can't imagine God doing that. (Though it is kinda funny to imagine if it were like that...). I think that regardless of how many different styles of music that will be in heaven, it will be amazing to God because it will be worshiping Him and it won't matter if you sing off key or whatever. Then again, should that not be like how it is on earth? I know for me sometimes I can get so irritated if the person beside me is singing off key because I've been tuned to sing on key,or caught up in how the band sounds or whatever, but really it shouldn't matter; what matters is that God is being praised and worshiped for being who he is and what he has done in that person's life. Just something I've been thinking about though I think I will ever be able to fully curb the sound critic inside me since I still want things to sound good, I can always work on it. And now in lieu of some friends going to Africa for the summer I found this song on YouTube with a bit of an African feel to it. Enjoy. :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I69a1_pwDU4&feature=related

Adventuring

This week has been kinda crazy with wind and rain for a couple days and random other goings on. So here's a rundown. My parents came to visit over May Long weekend. So good to visit with them. We hiked around in Edworthy Park after work on Sunday, they went to church with me, and we just had a good time getting caught up. On the Monday, some people from my church went hiking in the mountains. Really good day for it. We hiked what I think was the Continental Ridge? Ya. It was a fun day just being outside and it wasn't too cold or wet and rainy until the end of the hike when it started to drip a little. I don't recommend doing said hike in running shoes....We got to slide down the mountain on some snow that was still lingering past the tree line. Super fun and fast. It definitely made going down a lot easier. I biked up to ACAD to see a friend's art show. Her piece was pretty cool. It used ceramics and balloons. There were some other really cool ones. It was interesting to see the different materials the grads used in the pieces and calling it art. One piece incorporated a ladder being suspended by rope and had paint spilled underneath it. Thursday started out as a quiet evening with me watching a movie and Jess watching some TV turned into some friends moving some furniture over and hanging out for a while. We now can comfortably seat 20 people in our house....it's crazy. though we are looking to getting rid of one of the couches. And another friend is taking one of them. So it won't be this way forever...So ya. Friday after work I helped some friends clean their apartment since they are both moving. And came home with a bunch of random food and a plant. :) Good times. And came home to find people at my house. Our house has had so much comings and goings in the last two weeks it's a little crazy but it's good. I like having people around from time to time. Yesterday after work it was so nice outside for a change and so I procrastinated doing laundry and dishes and visited with the neighbors. They are hilarious. The lady is Jamaican and an excellent cook. I couldn't refuse when they offered to feed me supper. Soo good. I didn't even realize how late it had gotten when I got up to leave. She and her husband are a fairly easy-going couple and love having people over. She would probably ahve the whole block over if she could. It was fantastic. After 3 years of living here it's about time I got to know some of the other people on the block....It'll be good. That's what's been going on. Things just keep happening and sometimes I forget to blog about it or it becomes commonplace and what I would deem as not blog worthy...But ya. Life is good. Work is giving me some more hours which is nice. And arranging my schedule so I can still do stuff in the evening with people. And Ultimate Frisbee starts tomorrow! Woohoo. I'm excited. It'll be some good times this summer.Lilac Fest is also on today but I sadly won't be able to go to it due to funny work hours. :( There's always next year...if I'm still in this city that is...we'll see what happens... Happy Sunday. It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High. Proclaiming your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord; I sing for joy at what your hands have done. ~Psalm 92

This Week

-Suyi came to visit :) -Origami (I made my first butterfly...didn't really look like a butterfly...oh well) -Spent waaaayy too much time on the computer... -Late night chats -Yarn shop visiting. -Attempted to figure out how to knit with three colors -Reading my first Sci-fi novel... -Movie watching -Visiting with friends -Biking and walking -Baking blueberry muffins Two questions: How do you find my blog? Sometimes I click on the links in my traffic sources to see where they take me and those links don't take me to where I would expect them to... -Why do the Jedi not accept love as part of the good side of the Force? (I've been in a bit of a Star Wars fix lately...) If love is a good emotion and is a greater force than peace why not let it guide them in the path of peace and win the war against the Sith? Just curious... Some friends were getting rid of some stuff so I went over to see what I could salvage and came out with a sweater, a black dress, an extension cord thing and some puzzles and a book. yay. I may go back and see what else I can find...I may or may not snag some couch pillows and other items. And had a really good chat with them at the same time so that was good. How can I say there is no God When all around creation calls? -Creation Calls~Brian Doerksen
