Apples Apples Apples

I picked apples this weekend off the trees along the road by the school. Good times. I really wanted to make and eat apple crisp sometime and since we were having a house date I figured since it wouldn't really be a huge loss for me if the apples weren't good, I figured why not. And as far as I know it's not illegal...anyhow. So the apples themselves are really small and quite sour (we tried eating them plain and it definitely made your mouth pucker in a sour expression) but when doused in sugar and cinnamon, they tasted delicious. Since the apples are small they took forever to cut, but nonetheless, the crisp was good and it was fun hanging out with the roommates. Our house is now decorated with Bible verses and pictures that look like a child could have maybe drawn them...apparently we're not overly artistically inclined...It was fun though. And now I have a ton of apples to use up somehow...Ideas?

Also I love fall. Happy sigh.

And even when the trees have just surrendered
To the harvest time
Forfeiting their leaves in mid September
And sending us inside
Still I notice You when change begins
And I am braced for colder winds
I will offer thanks for what has been and what's to come
You are Autumn

First Week of Classes...Complete

So summer has ended and school has started up again. Good thing...I was getting ready for a change of pace. I'm enjoying most of my classes thus far minus stats...Ugh...Oh well. I'll get through it and then I won't have to worry about it again...or so we hope...My vacation home was really good, though it felt weird to be there; when I got back the city felt more like home than home did. Maybe cuz I didn't actually go all the way home but only to my sister's place...I don't know. But anyway. It was still good to get away for a while and have a change of scenery and see my family. So ya. It was good. And my niece is now a whole year old. Goodness. And she was learning to walk and trying to take her first steps. So cool (and cute) to see that. So anyway. Work ended for the season and school started. Kinda weird. You know you're an upperclassman when you 1. have an overstuffed backpack and 2. you sit down in the caf or other such place and you realize you don't know anybody. Yep that was my first day...and then I ran into some people I knew and it was all good. But ya. It made me feel old. Student body wise, it seems like everybody is new and they all look so young and fresh out of high school (not that anything is wrong with that...it just makes me feel kinda old and somewhat out of place...cuz I don't know them yet....?) Ya. It'll be a good semester though. But hey 4th year university students aren't supposed to have a life now right? HA! Anyway. Very happy to have my roommates all back; it'll be interesting to see how things work in our house this year since it's pretty much all different people, and by all I mean 2 different people...Should be good though. I've gotten to know all of them a little bit and I think it'll be a good year getting to know them better. So ya. That's what's been happening. Crazy and cool how God pulls things together.
