Semi-Limbo

So life is in a semi-limbo kind of stage at the moment. That in between time of school ending for the summer and starting work. Except not really since at least this week there's stuff going on every day for me. I biked to school yesterday just to see how long it would take me...It only took half an hour going up hill. Amusingly, that's roughly the same amount of time it takes going up by bus...gotta love transit...So ya. I've determined that biking up or down 17th Ave is mildly scary. I'm also getting used to using hand signals something I haven't done...in years...if ever...And I am greatly appreciating having a helmet. Never thought I would given that I haven't worn one since elementary. It's good times. I'm looking forward to being able to bike and explore my neighborhood/city in the summer.
In other news. I have 2 job interviews this week, both for teaching piano. We'll see how that goes. Hopefully I get one of the 2 positions. It'll be interesting though considering I haven't really done any serious practicing for most of the semester.
I had my first taste of white wine over Easter weekend. And have determined I'm not really a huge fan of it...Though it was slightly better than the red wine I had in Cuba. I'll probably never really be a wine person...
And now I need to start reading for my spring course. Should be a good time...
Oh I also went to see Handel's Messiah. It was weird but good being part of the audience since usually I'm a part of whatever production is being put on. It was really good and unless I'm mistaken our school's choirs are performing Messiah at Christmas this next year so it kind of gave me a preview. And I could still sing a lot of the parts from when our school did the piece 2 years ago...
So ya. That's about what's happening in this semi-limbo stage.

Have a gooder. Enjoy being in limbo because you never know when you'll get a break again. Appreciate the time you have and use it wisely.

To do this Summer...

1. Get a library card...that would make 3 different places that I have a library card in...
2. Learn at least 1 of my grade 10 pieces...
3. Find a way to use some yarn...aka knitting/crocheting
4. Get a tan...hasn't really happened in the last 2 or 3 years-that's what I get for working at inside jobs all summer...on the upside-no skin cancer for me! :)

Yup summertime as of today. And I get a little time off before I start my spring course. wOOt! And by a little time I mean until I buy the textbook...which will be soon since we're supposed to have the first couple chapters read before the class starts...oh the joys of spring modulars...anyways.

Happy Summer!

This is what the Lord says: "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.'

Jeremiah 6:16

The Lord replied, "my Presence will go with you and I will give you rest."

Exodus 33:14

You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in his distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat.

Isaiah 25:4

Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commands.

Deuteronomy 7:9

Update on Life...Great is Thy Faithfulness

Apparently my last post was my 100th post... which would make this one my 101st post. H'ray! Anyways.
This last little while has been fairly stressful. Ok not gonna lie...it's been crazy stressful...at least for me...
School wise it hasn't been terrible-I'd say normal for this time of year. Finished my last paper of the year last week and now we're on to finals. Should be a good time...(For varying definitions of "good time"). I'm taking a course in the month of May. I know usually I stay away from spring/summer courses (ever since I did my gr 3 Harmony and History I've opted to stay away from summer school) but the course that was offered sounded interesting and it's only offered biannually so I figured sure why not. And in this way I will for sure be graduating in 1.5 years instead of 2 with only taking 4 courses per semester instead of an insane 5. So ya. It'll be interesting.

-I did some job hunting during that time as well and...I have a job! wOOt! I get to work at Heritage Park this summer here in the city. Yes, it means that I will not be going back to Manitoba :( But part of the awesome part is that I get to wear a costume of some sort...should be fun.

-Also in there I got to search for roommates as at least 2 of the girls currently living in my house are going off in different directions (one's getting married and the other is going on onsite). So ya.

-I learned that a friend from high school has been sick with some unknown illness. The doctors think they've found a diagnosis for it and have started treatment. Hopefully the treatment works.

-I also finished up my practicum. Not really stressful I guess but kinda sad as I really enjoyed my practicum.

So ya. This last while has been stressful at least emotionally. Through it all, God has proven himself incredibly faithful, an "ever present help in times of trouble." He has been and will continue to be my Guide and my Rock, guiding "my future as he has the past."

The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease.
Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.
I say to myself, "The Lord is my inheritance; therefore I will hope in him!"
The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him.
For no one is abandoned by the Lord forever.
Though he brings grief, he also shows compassion because of the greatness of his unfailing love.

~Lamentations 3:22-24,25, 31+32
(I have no idea if I properly cited that but that is the area where those verses are found...)

It's paper writing season...enough said...will post something about the rest of life once I have come out of this vortex of research and writing...
