Only Human

what does that even mean? too often we use that as an excuse for our incompetencies. i did that just recently with a project for english. i used the excuse that because i'm more introverted i couldn't think to ask anybody to be my partner for a project. so now i'm doing that project by myself...not too sure how it's gonna turn out yet....i used that as an excuse but God showed me that it was pride and selfishness with introvertedness as a cover up for the crime. God worked that out in me, but i'm more at peace with that project and God can use my mistakes and i can definitely learn from it. but ya. so since we are only human does that mean we can use that as an excuse for sin? heck no. if it did there would be no or very little purpose for such Scripture as Phillipians 4:13 "I can do everything through him who gives me strength." such Scriptures as those have just spoken out to me that it's not by my own strength that i do well anything in life. i mean who am i to think that i can everything by myself anyway. i say that God can do anything cuz he's God after all but if i say that i'm scared to ask someone if they want to partner up with me, that's pretty much contradicting Scripture and who i say God is. it's something i'm working on in my life and God has been using every day stuff to show me what's really been going on in my heart. i encourage you all to really seek God out and allow him to search you out. trust me it's scary and not all too pretty, but i believe we will all be better people and closer to becoming more Christlike once we allow God to clear out our hearts of this crazy, stupid, ugly worldly stuff.

looking into the future....

wOOt!gotta love having something to look forward to. and i've had something to look forward to pretty much everyday this week. it's exciting...yesterday was the continentals.same program that ramsey did but different people. twas pretty exciting and we had some people stay at our house and such. so that was good. it was amusing cuz they were all from the states and one girl was from nevada so it was pretty cold for them last night. i found it amusing that they were all shivering non stop as they unloaded their stuff from their tour bus and into the van....or maybe that's just my weird sense of humor kicking in...so ya. other stuff to look forward to....Laura's coming out tomorrow!!!!!wOOt! that's exciting. i haven't seen her for ages even though it's only been a year since she went back home to BC. so ya she's staying out here for like a week and a little bit. wOot wOOt!! so me and tiff are driving to regina tomorrow to pick her up and then i think we're heading on to caronport to so she can visit with the boys. so that'll be fun. then on Saturday we're having a one day mini meet with yorkton here. which will be good cuz then i'll get to see yorkton people!! cuz i've got connections there and you'd think that even though we live only an hour away we'd get to see each other more often but nooooo. we have to wait for something big (ie a quizmeet) to happen...but oh well. it just makes the meeting more happy and joyous....so ya. happy belated thanksgiving to all that i haven't already said that to. and that is pretty much all that is new with me at this moment that i feel like writing out. so ya talk to y'all later!

Oh English how I love thee...

just not all the projects and effort thou requierest of me. so ya i was working on a procedure manual all weekend. well not quite. i took a couple breaks in between uninspirational moments to rake and bag the leaves in our yard. i was originally gonna do my manual on how to play ghetto ball, but then realized that i knew very little about it even though i had watched many entertaining games of it all summer and decided to switch to how to carve a jack-o-lantern. Not the most original thing in the world but whatever and i had already cut circles out of cardboard so i didn't really want to waste all that work. so ya.
youth group has now started. wOOt! it's so weird once again. cuz last year there were so many grade 12s and this year there's me, stacy, and kurt. there's a lot of grade 9s comin up though. that part is exciting to see. except that many of them are of the non church sort. so it's kinda weird. but i guess it'll make youth group somewhat more interesting...so ya. we went out to Davidsons and played like a frisbee football type game which was pretty fun except that it was pretty dark already by the time we got out there.then we played hunt the bear. man that game is freaky when it's so insanely dark but it's fun. after that we played mission impossible. the greatest game to hit the planet since gorgone.wOOt! ya. it was good. then tiff and stacy decided the youth room needed some more excitedment so they painted the pole in multiple colors and moved the couches around and such. looks pretty exciting...anyways. so ya that was my weekend.
