Ever wonder...
What would happen if in this place known as North America people started dressing in shabby clothes, didn't brush their hair, showered maybe once a week how would the rest of this "normal" society react? I was thinking about this last night and thought it would be interesting to try and see what the reactions would be. Would we avoid those people or would we come to appreciate their true worth on the inside? How often do we go up to that person who we think could not possibly be at all interesting because they don't dress "right" or they're more introverted, don't play sports or do the things the "cool" kids do? I'm pretty guilty of it. Maybe we would appreciate others and ourselves a lot more if we didn't care about the outward appearance. I'm not saying we now all have to go and not shower or dress in shabby clothes or whatever, I'm just saying what if. It's just something to think about.
"The LORD does not look at things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance but the LORD looks at the heart." 1 Sam 16:7 b
"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewellry and fine clothing. Instead it should be that of your inner self the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit which is of great worth in God's sight." 1 Peter 3:3-4
"Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised."
Proverbs 31:30
"A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies." Proverbs 31:1
