Detours

So the other day I was on my way home from Churchbridge and decided I didn't want to go home too quickly. So I decided to take a detour. I decided that I would go through Millwood in the valley and go by Laura's old trailer when she lived here. I had driven that road before numerous times back in the day when I was like 16 or so and really love that road, especially in spring/summer. But my memory didn't quite serve me too well in the beginning because I ended up getting an unexpected tour of Bunge which is a canola crushing plant. There was a lot of bumps in that part of the road and I didn't know what kind of condition my poor car would be in afterwards. BUT I made it out of there in one piece. And I figured I just took a wrong turn. which turned out to be the case. Then I found my way again. So I went through Harrowby and come across this sign that says "Harrowby Cemetary." Seeing as how half of my has worked at a funeral home at some point of course I check it out. It was a rather nice road, but a small cemetary and nothing too exciting. Looked kinda abandoned and lonely. There's something fascinating about old, abandoned, lonely looking places. At least for a little while, I find. I then headed back for the "main road." I followed the road for quite a while before wondering "Am I lost???" I knew I was sposed to turn somewhere but hey there's gravel roads everywhere and what if I missed it while deep in thought or something? It's been known to happen...Fortunately I didn't miss the road and found the right one to turn onto. H'ray. Then I followed that road into the valley and was washed in a flood of happy memories of summer days long gone by. haha. It just looked so peaceful with the horses and cows and random houses. My, but I do love that valley. Then when I got up out of the valley on the other side I had to remember where I turned off to head back to the highway and back to reality. But ya, Dad would take me and Tiff on these crazy detours on the way home from the farm, and we had no idea where we were going or where we'd end up. We got impatient most of the time, and of course Dad just told us to "watch the scenery..." It drove me nuts! But now I don't mind detours quite so much. They bring some unexpected adventures and you get a lovely tour of some beautiful countryside while you're at it. So 10 points for detours! Just enjoy the countryside...

The whole earth is filled with your glory Lord angels and men adore
Creation longs for what's in store. Mountains bow and oceans roar.
May you be honored and glorified, Exalted and lifted high. Here at
Your feet I lay my life, my life.
