"You can't control the way you look but you can control the way you treat others!"
~Bonnie-Rigoletto
This has been ringing in my head in the last couple days as something that stood out to me from this movie which I just recently watched. (Good movie by the way if you're into somewhat cheesy/family friendlier version of Beauty and the Beast mixed with Phantom of the Opera) Also I love the music from it...Basically the quote means what it says and has been convicting me lately. Sometimes I find that while I don't necessarily gossip about other people I also don't necessarily look at their heart i.e. seeing past what they look like. You can tell a lot about a person by how they act and the people they hang out with (1 Cor. 15:33; 1 Sam. 16:7; Matt 15:10) What makes a person is not what they look like. How many times do we need to have that statement drilled into our heads before it finally clicks? Well, I guess we can start by truly trying to appreciate the good things that we see in others in spite of what we see; this I think comes from really getting to know someone for who they are (this does not always excuse them from certain actions though). So ya. That is a bit of what I've been thinking about lately. It's somewhat repetitive and it's a good thing I'm not writing a paper on the topic...speaking of which I should probably go and work on one...
Have a gooder!
